Version 1.3 of Black Beacon is delayed
The Black Beacon team is taking a risky step to improve the game.

After playing Black Beacon almost daily since its launch, I still believe that as of this writing, it's the best live service game that has launched in 2025, but the truth is the issues that the game had in the beginning are still there, and even passionate players like myself are getting annoyed. Localization alone shouldn't take months to be fixed. It's one of the simplest things to implement, yet we still have the wrong language in several places, including the latest events. The developers need to do something about it, and it looks like they finally have a solid plan.
Today we got a badly needed communication from the publisher regarding the current state of the game and what the developers intend to do in the near future.
Dear Seers,

This is the Black Beacon team.
First of all, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for your continued support and love for Black Beacon. Since the release of the subsequent phase of version 1.2, due to insufficient refinement of the version and unresolved… pic.twitter.com/n0Jyh5Rk4I
Please go read the full text, but the most important part for the players is probably the fact that we won't get a new version until October 14. There will be plenty of rewards and even a couple of reruns during this time, but it's still a massive risk. An established, popular title like Genshin Impact can pull it off, but for a relatively small game that has already upset its players, such a big delay can be a suicide.
That being said, it is a much better turn of events than many people have expected. The live service game community always jokes about EoS, even regarding extremely popular titles, but the state of Black Beacon has been quite concerning lately. There hasn't been a new character announcement, and the game has been having connection issues for the past few days. Even I started suspecting the dreadful end of service. While being relatively sad, this announcement is actually good news.
Black Beacon will undoubtedly lose players until October 14, because we all know how “understanding” gacha players are. Bouncing back won't be easy, but it's not impossible. If they deliver on their promise, resolve the issues, come back with great content, and hopefully do some additional marketing, the game might actually start to grow. Yes, I'm biased, but even if you don't like this game as much as I do, there's no reason to wish for its end, right?
I'll continue playing. There's still a lot of content in Black Beacon that I haven't completed yet, so I will use this downtime to catch up, and I hope other players stick with it as well. At least until we see the outcome of their efforts.
